If you love to sew and quilt, this wool ironing mat bundle is for you. Our wool pressing mat is 100% New Zealand wool and 1/2″ thick. It is like getting 2 pressing surfaces for the price of one. Heat is absorbed and reflected back up to the material you are pressing. The result is really crisp pressed finish on your fabric seams and lower heat settings which can prevent scorching. The dense fibers in the wool also helps to hold your material firmly. This means there is less slipping and movement of your material as you iron. You can use steam with our wool pressing mat, however, you will find you don’t need to as often as the dense wool is so efficient at distributing even heat to your material.NOTEIf you do use steam, make sure to put something under your mat to protect the surface underneath from moisture. If you use steam, you may notice a “damp wool” smell. This is normal. When you are finished, leave your mat out to dry before putting it away as this will prevent odors from building up in the fibers. Your mat can be hand washed and hung to dry as needed.
